Nachdem er sein Hitgespür schon vor der Jahrtausendwende eindrucksvoll unter Beweis gestellt hatte – Stichwort EIFFEL 65, verbunden mit der Farbe blau (Da Ba Dee…) –, hat der Grammy-nominierte, italienische DJ und Producer Gabry Ponte gerade in den letzten Jahren eine umwerfende Dance-Hitserie hingelegt – man denke an „Monster“, „The Passenger“ oder auch „Thunder“, die ihn zu einem der meistgestreamten Artists überhaupt machten. Jetzt schickt er zusammen mit dem britischen Sänger Conor Maynard (u.a. Ne-Yo, Pharrell, Rita Ora) und dem DJ-Newcomer jayover den Indian Summer in die Verlängerung: Mit der brandneuen Single „Another Night“ liefern sie den Soundtrack für die letzten Partys der Saison – hier reinhören.
„Give me all your love/I wanna feel it“, singt Conor Maynard aus UK, während Signore Ponte und sein junger Sidekick jayover einen bereits nach wenigen Takten in ihren Bann ziehen: Schon die Beats der ersten Takte setzen alles in Bewegung, und dann breitet der italienische Veteran immer dichtere Synthesizer-Teppiche aus, über die er die Feelgood-Melodie auspackt. „Oh girl, I swear, you got a hold on me!“, heißt es weiter im Text – und auch dieser neue Track lässt einen nicht mehr los! Astreiner und aufgeräumter Pop mit viel Gefühl in den Strophen, spielt Gabry Ponte seine jahrelange Dance-Erfahrung spätestens ab dem Build-up komplett aus und liefert mal wieder pure Tanzflächen-Euphorie …
Besonders im vergangenen Jahr ist die Hörerschaft von Conor Maynard extrem schnell gewachsen, als er binnen eines Jahres über 300 Millionen kombinierte Streams (Spotify und Apple Music) verzeichnen konnte – und das ohne Unterstützung der großen Player. Sein YouTube-Kanal hat aktuell 13,1 Millionen Abonnenten und 2,7 Milliarden Aufrufe; auch bei Spotify dürfte er demnächst die 2-Milliarden-Streams-Marke knacken. In UK ist er in den Top-10 der meistabonnierten TikTok-Accounts (Platz 8) vertreten.
Gabry Ponte spielt seit ein paar Jahren in der absoluten Topliga mit: Der Italiener konnte zuletzt eine derart massive Hitserie verbuchen, dass inzwischen über 2 Milliarden Streams auf sein Konto gehen und er in den Top-350 der meistgestreamten Künstler der Welt vertreten ist. In seiner Heimat zählt er sogar zu den Top-3, wenn man allein auf die Streaming-Zahlen schaut. Auf die Smash-Single „Monster“ mit LUM!X, die allein bei Spotify rund eine Viertelmilliarde Streams verbucht, folgten mit „The Passenger“ (mit D.T.E.) oder „Scare Me“ (mit KSHMR) weitere Hits. Vor einem Jahr gelang ihm (zusammen mit LUM!X und Prezioso) dann ein noch größerer Wurf, als die drei den Track „Thunder“ vom Stapel ließen – was sogar noch höhere Streaming-Wellen schlug.
Zuletzt auch mit Aloe Blacc („Can’t Get Over You“) im Studio, legte er mit „We Could Be Together“ (mit LUM!X and Daddy DJ) erst kürzlich einen astreinen Sommer-Hit vor. Jetzt startet der dutzendfach mit Edelmetall ausgezeichnete EDM-Visionär aus Italien mit „Another Night“ in den Herbst.
