February 11th, 2026 (New York, NY): Today, acclaimed DJ and producer John Summit returns with his new single “SHADOWS,” out via Experts Only / Darkroom Records. The second release off his highly anticipated new album introduces another long-teased crowd pleaser and continues to reveal the project’s versatility. CTRL ESCAPE is out April 15.
Featuring striking vocals from LAVINIA, where she beckons “come follow me into the night, we can go further than a million miles,” the track invites listeners into a seductive escape from reality. Intimate yet mysterious, the lyrics pair seamlessly with tech-house flourishes and layered synths, heightening a sense of desire and the pull of the unknown. This shared surrender reflects Summit’s broader album ethos, framing music not just as escape, but as a communal experience—where collective euphoria becomes both rebellion and belonging.

CTRL ESCAPE pushes boundaries by exploring and fusing a wide array of genres, from heavy-hitting tech-house flair to dubstep, drum & bass, and other broader influences. Fans are captivated by the new sound Summit is introducing, with teaser videos going viral of his new music featuring artists like Feid and Julia Wolf.
The transformation comes to life in the visuals for his debut album track, released just two weeks ago, “LIGHTS GO OUT,” which mirror the suffocating repetition of routine before bursting into explosive freedom, using the shift from cubicles and office life to club lights and chaos to tell a deeper story of self-liberation.
John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut this summer, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS], alongside his UK summer headline debut at Labyrinth Events’ Tofte Manor. He then hosts back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler, before closing Ultra Music Festival’s mainstage.
Summit will also appear at Ultra South Africa, EDC México, and Tomorrowland, before returning tonNew York City in September for the highly anticipated return of the Experts Only Festival following its sold-out 2025 debut.
In the last year, Summit continued his artistic exploration with releases such as “Crystallized” (Ft. Inéz), an emotionally charged track that premiered at Tomorrowland showcasing a new dimension of his sound and ability to resonate with audiences beyond the club and festival circuit. Summit also debuted his long-awaited remix of Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go”, after teasing the track for months. Other standout releases include “Silence” (John Summit Remix) with Sarah McLachlan & Delerium and “Focus” (feat. CLOVES), each further demonstrating his dynamic style and range.
Last September, Summit hosted New York City’s largest dance music festival, Experts Only, drawing over 50,000 fans and featuring a massive lineup including Kaskade B2B Cassian, Green Velvet B2B Layton Giordani, LP Giobbi, and AYYBO. He additionally lit up major stages around the world with explosive performances at Lollapalooza Paris and Germany, Ultra Europe, and two headlining sets at Austin City Limits Festival. He also delivered his biggest U.K. show to date at London’s O2 Arena before closing out the year with a sold-out performance at Folsom Field (University of Colorado in Boulder’s stadium).
