Röyksopp, die Wegbereiter des elektronischen Pops, kündigen den zweiten Teil ihres umfangreichen Profound Mysteries-Projekts an, „Profound Mysteries II“, der am 19. August erscheinen wird.
Dienstag erfreuten Röyksopp ihre Fans mit der überraschenden Veröffentlichung des neuen Tracks „Sorry“ featuring Jamie Irrepressible, und gestern folgte „Unity“ featuring Karen Harding auf dem Fuße.
Karen Harding über die Zusammenarbeit: „Ich fühle mich wirklich geehrt, mit Röyksopp zu arbeiten, ich bin ein Fan und habe die Art und Weise, wie sie ihre Musik machen, immer geliebt. Unity‘ ist so ein besonderer Song, der sich mit einer Intensität aufbaut, nach der ich mich in der Musik sehne, was bei der Gesangsperformance in vielerlei Hinsicht geholfen hat.“
Berge und Brundtland beschreiben Profound Mysteries als das größte Projekt in der Karriere von Röyksopp. Es fasst den einzigartigen Sound zusammen, an dem sie jahrzehntelang gefeilt haben, und baut ihn weiter aus. Es ist ein kühner Blick in die Zukunft und eine Hommage an die Künstler, Genres und musikalischen Strömungen, die sie zuerst inspiriert haben. Es ist ein Projekt, an dem sie ihr ganzes Leben lang gearbeitet haben (die ältesten Ideen stammen aus den Anfangstagen von Röyksopp, buchstäblich unter Verwendung von MIDI-Daten, die die Band als Teenager in den 1990er Jahren komponierte).
Profound Mysteries zeichnet sich durch eine Fülle von Kollaborationen aus. Wie immer haben Berge und Brundtland den Großteil des Albums gemeinsam in Norwegen geschrieben, eingespielt und produziert, obwohl ihre Zusammenarbeit die ganze Welt umspannt. Auf Profound Mysteries haben Röyksopp Streicher und Holzbläser in New York, Berlin und Paris aufgenommen, während Gastsängerinnen und -sänger sowohl von bekannten Künstlern aus dem Röyksopp-Universum (Susanne Sundfør) als auch von Neuzugängen (Allison Goldfrapp, Beki Mari, Astrid S, Karen Harding, Pixx und Jamie Irrepressible) stammen.
Es gibt ein einzigartiges erweitertes kreatives Universum, in dem jeder Track von einem „Artefakt“ und einem „Visualiser“ begleitet wird, die vom australischen zeitgenössischen Künstler Jonathan Zawada geschaffen wurden, sowie einen Kurzfilm, der in Zusammenarbeit mit der skandinavischen Produktionsagentur Bacon entstanden ist. On April 29, following almost a year of international hearsay and speculation, celebrated Danish live act WhoMadeWho unveiled the details and upcoming release date of their seventh full-length studio album UUUU. A thirteen-track opus set for release on May 27 via German imprint Embassy One, the album announcement was marked by the release of the huge collaborative album title track with Rampa – UUUU.
Now, with the release of the band’s long player just a fortnight away, WhoMadeWho unleash one final pre-album gift, as they enlist Berlin-based producer and Keinemusik co-founder &ME to provide his own resplendent interpretation of the ethereal six-minute album single.
