Gebaut auf Angaras hypnotischer Percussion und leuchtenden Melodieschichten wirkt der Track zugleich weitläufig und zutiefst menschlich, während Oceans vokale Zeile „I don’t wanna settle down“ zu einem Mantra für Bewegung und Hingabe wird.
Wenn Ocean fortfährt mit „Won’t you come there with me / Take you on this odyssey“, schwillt der Track wie eine Flut an und trägt die Hörerinnen und Hörer durch Wellen aus Emotion und Rhythmus. Spätestens wenn der Chorus in „Your star shines brightly over me“ aufblüht, hebt Angaras Produktion den Song zu etwas Himmlischem empor: ein Moment für die Tanzfläche, gehüllt in Intimität und Ehrfurcht.
Über den Track sagen Angara: „‘Out At Sea’ handelt von der Erinnerung an diese erste Liebe, diese erste echte Verbindung, die man nie wirklich vergisst. Es geht um ein Gefühl, das einen einst geleitet hat und sich mit der Zeit in etwas anderes verwandelt hat – treibend im Meer der Möglichkeiten.“
Für Angara – bestehend aus den langjährigen Freunden Quentin und Loris – setzt Out at Sea ihre Entwicklung als Architekten emotional resonanter elektronischer Musik fort. Seit ihrem Durchbruch mit der Rwanda EP auf Monstercat Silk im Jahr 2021 hat das französische Duo ein weltweites Publikum aufgebaut, über 70 Millionen Streams gesammelt und in ganz Europa gespielt. Ihr Sound lebt an der Schnittstelle der Kontraste: zarte, cineastische Melodien verwoben mit treibenden Rhythmen, wo Verletzlichkeit und Bewegung aufeinandertreffen. Ren Ocean ist ein in Berlin ansässiger österreichischer Künstler, bekannt für sein introspektives Songwriting und seine texturierten, seelenoffenen Vocals. Seine Musik verbindet rohe Emotionen mit elektronischer Fluidität – ein Sound, den er durch Veröffentlichungen auf Rose Avenue, Kitsuné, Deep Root Records, Beyond und Ministry of Sound erforscht. Oliver Heldens breathes new life into one of dance music’s most iconic anthems.
