Claxy Embraces the Sunset Vibe in “Before The Sun”:

Brazilian electronic duo Claxy return with their new single “Before The Sun”, out May 1, 2026 via Embassy One. Bridging their roots in Rio de Janeiro with their current base in Germany, Clara Valente and Gui Gautreaux craft a refined cross-genre sound palette that moves between indie dance, nu-disco shimmer, and emotional chill house. They are rapidly becoming recognized as the Brazilian XX.
There is a quiet restraint and emotional minimalism at the core of their sound: placing Claxy loosely in the vein of Maribou State, XX, and Bonobo in terms of energy, texture, and intimacy, while firmly grounding their identity in Afro-Brazilian rhythm and warmth.
The result is a deeply immersive cut that sits at the intersection of volcanic club energy and introspective songwriting. Julia Borelli (Grammy-affiliated) whose work spans key figures in contemporary electronic music, including RÜFÜS DU SOL, Anyma, Richie Hawtin, and Ben Böhmer, has been hands-on in evolving Claxy’s sonic language into its most fluid and immersive form to date.
At its core is Clara’s bilingual vocal performance, drifting between English and a whispered Portuguese refrain. The song unfolds with a gradual emotional arc—moving from introspection into release, reclaiming the night as a space of transformation and surrender and celebrating sunset. Built on warm, melodic house foundations, “Before The Sun” lives in the liminal space between euphoria and stillness, where memory, desire, and rhythm blur into one another. It captures the tension between holding onto a dream state and giving in to the arrival of the setting of the sun.
The release arrives at a pivotal moment for the duo. With management from Matt Jagger (Monolink, Purple Disco Machine) and Konrad von Löhneysen (Embassy of Music / Embassy One), and global booking via CAA, Claxy are rapidly expanding their international presence.
On May 9, they will open for Paul Kalkbrenner at Neue Palais in Potsdam, performing to 15,000 people—marking a major milestone and the beginning of an extensive 2026 summer tour, including Soundscape Festival (Istanbul), Tension Festival (Switzerland), and Beonix (Cyprus).
More than a dance track, “Before The Sun” is a bilingual meditation on identity, emotional release, and the quiet euphoria of existing between night and day.

ABOUT CLAXY:

Claxy is the Germany-based electronic duo of the Brazilian couple Clara Valente (vocals, keys) and Gui Gautreaux (percussion, programming), rapidly becoming recognized as the Brazilian XX.
Now managed by Matt Jagger (Management Purple Disco Machine, Orbital, and Monolink), Claxy enter a new phase with their forthcoming 12-track album released on Embassy One (Moby, Björk, Robyn, and Janus Rasmussen) shaped in collaboration with Julia Borelli (Grammy-affiliated: RÜFÜS DU SOL, Anyma, Richie Hawtin, and Ben Böhmer) as producer.
Moving between the emotional density of Rio de Janeiro and the precision of their current base in Germany, they have developed a distinctive sound where shoegaze atmospheres, trip-hop rhythms, and bilingual (English/Portuguese) vocals intersect with roots in Música Popular Brasileira and electronic dance music. Early releases on Natura Viva and Anjunadeep highlighted their ability to merge songwriting depth with electronic drive, while performances at SXSW established them as a compelling live act.
On stage, Claxy translates this sonic world into motion: tactile percussion and layered synths meet raw vocal delivery, building crescendos that evolve rather than erupt. With their debut album complete and international representation in place, the duo is set to bring their cinematic, live-driven electronic experience to clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond.
